Karachi: Pakistan Airports Authority has tightened monkeypox prevention measures at domestic airports.
According to the PAA spokesperson, the number of BHS staff at Jinnah International has been increased, where instead of one, two doctors will be on duty at all times, and the number of medical assistants has been increased from 5 to 8 to 10.
One hundred and forty-six thousand seven hundred and twenty-two passengers were screened at Jinnah International Airport during the month of August. Only one passenger was found to be suspicious since the beginning of surveillance, the said passenger was reported on August 31.
According to PAA spokesperson, after every international flight, immigration and lounge area are being sprayed with disinfectant two to three times, one more cabin has been installed for checking and isolation of suspected passengers.
Information stands have also been placed in the international arrival walkway area of Jinnah International Airport, while more information sessions have also been started at the resource center at the airport.
