Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on Tuesday, a day before that, which means the monsoon session of Parliament will begin on Monday. Meanwhile, the opposition is gearing up to corner the NDA government on several issues, including the NEET paper leak, railway security and the UP government's decision on the Kannur Yatra. The central government had called an all-party meeting on Sunday ahead of the monsoon session. It was attended by leaders of various political parties including BJP president JP Nadda, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi and Union Minister Chirag Paswan.

The government can introduce 6 bills.

This session of the Parliament which started from Monday will continue till August 12. A total of 19 meetings will be held in it. The government is also expected to introduce six bills during this period. It also includes a bill to amend the 90-year-old Aircraft Act, as well as Parliament's approval for Jammu and Kashmir's budget. Meanwhile, the opposition can be seen rioting. Ahead of the budget presentation on Tuesday, Finance Minister Seetha Raman will also present the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday.

The bills tabled during the session include Finance Bill, Disaster Management, Boilers Bill, Indian Aircraft Bill, Coffee Promotion and Development Bill and Rubber Promotion and Development Bill. The meeting will discuss and vote on the demand for grants. Apart from this, appropriation bill will also be passed. The budget of Jammu and Kashmir will also be discussed and the budget will be passed.

On the other hand, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has constituted a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to set the parliamentary agenda. Om Birla is the chairman of this committee. 14 members of assembly from different parties have been nominated. This committee decides the functioning of the Lok Sabha, the time of debate etc. It includes Nishikant Dubey, Anurag Singh Thakur, Bhartri Hari Mehtab, PP Choudhary, Bijanat Panda, Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal etc. from BJP. K Suresh, Gaurav Gogoi from Congress, Sudeep Bandopadhyay from TMC, Dayandhi Maran from DMK, Arvind Sawant from Shiv Sena (UBT).

What did Naveen Patnaik say before the budget?

The BJD, led by former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has announced that it will play the role of a strong opposition and aggressively raise issues of state interest in Parliament. Patnaik has asked his party MPs to demand special status for Odisha.

What did the Congress say?

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the opposition would oppose any government move to reduce stake in public sector banks below 51 percent. In fact, the government can amend the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and other laws such as the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970 and the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980 in the budget session. It is being said that due to this, the government's stake in PSB may go below 51%.
