Jagdalpur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that India will be freed from Naxalism by March 31, 2026 and for this the state as well as the central government is working diligently. “Chhattisgarh Police is committed to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge to make India Naxal-free by March 31, 2026,” he said.
The Union Minister said that since the Modi government came to power, the martyrdom of security personnel has decreased by 73% and the deaths of civilians by 70%. “If Naxalism is eradicated from Bastar (Chhattisgarh), it will attract more tourists than Kashmir because of its natural beauty,” he said.
Shah said that those who know the process of change in society, also know that it is not limited to the 1.5 lakh people who participated in the Bastar Olympics. “Everyone is saying bed is changing. I can assure you that when I come to bed Olympics in 2026, I will say bed has changed,” he said. It started with the Olympics.
Shah said that the event would write a new story of Bastar’s development in the coming days and lay a strong foundation for the complete eradication of Naxalism. He also said that many developmental works are being done, through which Naxalism is being defeated.
Shah said around 30 Naxalites and rebels from six states – Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Assam participated in the program held here. He said that although this may be a small program, it is very important.
“I am very satisfied that the youth of the country are responding to our appeal, realizing the futility of violence and surrendering,” the interior minister said. Shah said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi entrusted him with the charge of the Home Ministry in 2019, he thought that those involved in armed movements should be given a chance to lay down their arms, lay down their arms and lead a peaceful life.
“Following our initiative, 20 peace accords were signed in the northeast and 9,000 militants surrendered,” he said. The Home Minister said that the Center has formulated policies for the rehabilitation of surrendered militants and Naxalites, including those injured in the violence.
