New Delhi: In Jagatpuri, husband and wife like Bunty and Babli were snatching. Both were arrested by the police in June. Husband Maruf Khan (25) was a declared rogue. There were already 19 cases. He was sent to jail. There were two cases against wife Shahida alias Soni (22) and she turned out to be pregnant, who was tied up and released. Despite being pregnant, Shahida was found snatching again on August 14. The police caught him again and tied him up after giving strict instructions. This year, the Shahdara district police busted Namaste, Thuk Thuk and UP gangster Amit alias Brown gang who were involved in similar robberies.365 looting robbers were caught.
DCP (Shahadra) Surendra Chaudhary said that 365 extortionists have been caught so far this year. There were 40 miscreants against whom 10 or more cases were registered. All of them have been tagged, keeping track of habitual offenders and those released on bail. This resulted in 578 snitching calls till August 19, 2023 which has increased to 486 this time. Similarly, the number of robbery calls in 2023 was 403 which has reduced to 359 this time.

The eastern range district of Shahdara is connected to Ghaziabad of UP, North East and Old Delhi of Yamnapar east and central district. Due to which criminals from outside come here and commit crimes. On April 6, cash and jewelery worth lakhs of rupees were robbed at gunpoint from the owner of a jewelery shop in Krishnanagar and a customer sitting there. Police scanned the footage of more than 2,000 CCTV cameras within a radius of 25 km. The notorious Amit Brown gang was involved. Two robbers from Muzaffarnagar, UP and a woman from Meerut who was dumping the goods, who was the mother-in-law of one of the robbers, were caught.

➤31 cases were against BC Anis alias Babu of Qalandar Colony, Seemapuri. He took the chain in front of Dilshad Garden Metro Station.
➤29 cases were against BC Hemant alias Baga alias Baka of Kalyanpuri, who was arrested in Karkadi mode chain snatching.
22 cases were registered against BC Saif Malik alias Kamil of Salempur. He was caught stealing from outside a banquet hall in East Azadnagar.

The real brothers turned out to be robbers: A motorcycle was stolen from a Rapido rider in Shahdara area. The accused Rahul (27) and his younger brother Deepak (23) of Vishwas Nagar were arrested. Both would forcefully hit each other’s car and extort money on the pretext of causing damage. If they don’t get money, they will loot.

Spouse and Minors: The victim’s phone was stolen in Krishna Nagar area. After investigation, Asif Malik and his wife Nisha Kumari living in Shankar Nagar Extension were arrested. It was revealed that the crime was being committed against a minor. No criminal record found.

Thuk Thuk Gang of Meerut: Meerut-based Afzal and Subran were nabbed by the Krishnanagar police on January 15 after taking out a branded phone from the car of the Additional Sessions Judge of the Kakkadoma Court near East Azadnagar Metro Station. Six cases were already registered against Sabran and two against Afzal.

5 years later Dhara Namaste Gang: Javed alias JD was wanted under Mukoka in Jagatpuri police station for five years. Before morning robbery, he would greet the victim and then commit the crime. 14 cases were already registered against him. The special team caught him from Mustafaabad in May.
