Veteran NASCAR and ARCA Menards Series driver Beni Chastain died at the age of 82. On February 9, 2025, the news of his death was met with a racing community and a post of tributes from fans worldwide. Many took his contribution to stock car racing and his presence in Arca Garage to remind him on social media.
Chastain, who competed in the Arca Menards series for two decades, started his racing career at a relatively late age, leading to his Arca Menards series in 2004 in South Boston Speedway when he was 55 years old. In the 2006 season, he remained a stability in ARCA, earned a reputation as a dedicated and emotional driver. His best finish in the series was 15th in 2020 in Detona.
His passing was first reported by Jreds Haas on social media. He took his X account and wrote,
“Former Arca driver Beni Chastain has passed away. He was 82 years old. Tear out”
Fans’ messages began to pour out shortly after. Some praised Beni as a favorite personality in Arka Garage, while others recalled their conversation with him. Zachary Tinkle, 2019 Vore’s Welding Cra Late Model Sportsman Champion, paid tribute to Chasteen, remembering his brief conversation with him,

In 2004, Chastain finished 22nd, with his Arke Menards series. His career came to Detona in 2020, where he was ranked 15th. Despite starting his racing career at 55, he remained a contestant in the game, made his final start in Detona in 2022 at the age of 79 in Detona, driving for fast track racing, finished 25th.
A Look Back: When Beni Chastain runs to eliminate hunger
In 2011, Beni Chastain participated in a special initiative with his stock car racing dreams. At the age of 68, he worked to raise awareness about senior Hunger, competing with ARAP and Drive to End Hunger (DTEH) campaign, competing in the Arca racing series.
Chastain, number 75 Bob Scatch Motisports ARCA is driving the car, participated with AARP to compete in eight races during the season. The sponsorship deal was aimed at highlighting the issue of hunger among the old Americans, while supporting the passion of Chasten for racing. The campaign included funds, awareness programs and grant initiatives to combat nationwide hunger.

Chasteen’s Drive to and Hunger car had a special liver, which prominently shows the campaign logo. The initiative encouraged fans and corporations to contribute through a text-to-donation program and trackside activation.
