Novak Djokovic made some honest comments about Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s ability to break their records. Alcaraz, who is currently ranked No. 3 in the ATP rankings, and Sinner, who is in the top spot, have been generating a lot of buzz in the tennis world recently.

Djokovic has etched his name in tennis history with an astonishing 24 Grand Slam titles, including 10 Australian Open, three French Open, seven Wimbledon and four US Open – making him the most successful male player of all time . In the 2024 season, he added the final piece to his legacy by securing his long-awaited Olympic gold medal in Paris.

in an interview with gq sports On Thursday, January 9, the Serbian tennis star casually commented that although his records may seem unbreakable to some, he believes both Alcaraz and Sinner could be the ones to step into his shoes in the future Are.

“It’s too soon. But, you know, people say my records will never be broken. I doubt that. I mean, Carlos could already be the next guy. Even Jannik.” Djokovic said.

He also stressed that if Sinner and Alcaraz prioritize their fitness and take care of their bodies, they can achieve long-term success.

“If they take care of the body, if they do things the proper way, focus on longevity, focus on the long term, they can do it,” he said.

At just 21, the Spaniard has already won four Grand Slam titles – two at Wimbledon, one at the US Open and one at the French Open. Reflecting on this remarkable achievement, Djokovic commented:

“Carlos has done something at such a young age that no one has done in history. So the odds are with him. he is going to finish his work [career] Slam very soon.”

Novak Djokovic will open his campaign against Nishesh Basavareddy at the Australian Open on Sunday, January 12. The two have never met before on the ATP Tour, so it will be an interesting encounter.
