On Monday, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Published Memorandum The “Antangle Regulation by the Prosecution”, in which he stated that the US justice department would stop its cracks on bitcoin and crypto mixer.
Here is the exact language that he used in the memorandum:
“… The Department of Justice will stop participating in regulation by the prosecution in this place. In particular, the department will no longer target virtual currency exchanges, mix and tambling services, and will unknowingly take offline wallets or violations for their final users’ acts …”
The next day, New York Attorney General (NYAG) James co-writer A Letter In which he called upon Congress leaders to make federal crypto regulation, which to prevent the use of crypto mixer for illegal purposes.
What he and his co-writers had to say about the Crypto Mixer here:
“Effective law requires cryptocurrency platforms, which must be clearly complied with anti-laundering laws, knowing your customer (” KYC “) regulations and cyber security protocols to know that terrorism, adverse governance, and crime, which can go through the money through the money.
While Dag Blaunch gave the benefit of doubt to users of bitcoin and crypto mixer, NY AG James said that all users of such mixers are criminals, as they refer to technology as “money laundering mixer”.
Such a language is deeply related to listening to the Attorney General of a state – very rarely – as it considers guilty.
NY AG James made such a rhetoric around bitcoin and crypto as he played the Attorney General in 2018, and it is unfair because 1.) He has never accepted that human rights and democracy activists use mixer to preserve their secrecy and their fundamentors.
Therefore, as the privacy of bitcoin becomes more prominent in the political field, ensure your share to increase the rhetoric that is using Dug Blanches, while NY AG is pushing back to dangerous and unjust rhetoric from AG James’ choice.
To listen to your voice on this issue and to tell our elected officials that it matters to us, it is for us, especially as Samorai wallets and tornado cash cases (more in discussion both in discussion below).
Personally there is a fight to our right to transfer value to the Internet. Please do not stay on the edge.
