A total of 10,500 athletes will participate in the Paris Olympics. India has a squad of 117 players, including 47 women. Badminton star PV Sindhu and veteran table tennis player Sharath Kamal will be India’s flag bearers at the opening ceremony. Let us tell you that the 78-member Indian contingent will take part in the ‘Athlete Parade’ at the opening ceremony. Apart from Sindhu and Shrath, other important players include archer Deepika Kumari, boxer Lulina Borghoen, table tennis player Manika Batra and tennis player Rohan Bopanna.

The Indian men’s hockey team also has a match against New Zealand on Saturday, so only three reserve players will attend the event.
