It also helped Phoenix that Rivaro had the best aggressive performance of his PBA career.
Rivaro said, “It is a big thing for us to play happy and have fun because this team is really happy with the court, so we have to translate it inside the court.”
“This has happened today. It is also a big thing for us that we transferred the ball a lot.”
Rivaro ended with a career-high 20 points and five rebounds, two assistance and two blocks, to bring the fuel masters into 1–2 records.
The UAAP champion also left behind fellow guard Tyler Tio and returned the big man Jason Perkins, who scored 22 and 19 points respectively.
“For me, we work and rely on this process, but we could not win even in those previous games, when we do the right thing every time.”
“Things were not in our favor last time, but if we rely only on the process then it will not be a problem for us.”
Phoenix will have a long time to resume before going back to the All-Filipino Conference action on 26 April when it faces Magnolia in Zamboaanga city.
