Mumbai: After taking a big gamble with the ‘Ladli Behne Yojana’ ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the government has now announced the Pink e-Rickshaw scheme. With the approval of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced the pink e-rickshaw scheme in 17 cities. About 10 thousand women of the state will benefit from this scheme. Under Pink E-Rickshaw Scheme, 20% amount will be given to eligible women by the government. According to the state government, this scheme will also provide employment to women in cities and they will be economically empowered. Earlier, the state government had announced Chief Minister Ladli Bahan Yojana in the state. In this, the government has announced to give 1500 rupees per month to women aged 20 to 65 years. This scheme will start from July 1. The government has fixed August 31 as the last date for the application.
What is Pink Auto Rickshaw Scheme?
Under the Pink e-rickshaw scheme announced by the Maharashtra government, all eligible women in the state will be given financial assistance to purchase e-rickshaws. A maximum financial assistance of 80 thousand rupees will be provided for this. As per the scheme the female beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Maharashtra. Female beneficiaries must possess a valid driving license. According to an estimate, 10 thousand women from 17 cities will benefit from this scheme. Under this scheme, 20% of the money will be given on the purchase of rickshaw by the government. The government has brought this scheme to provide employment to women. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that we have come up with another scheme for women. The name of this scheme is Pink Rickshaw. Women were to pay 20 percent of the scheme. 20 percent government and 70 percent bank loan will be given.
