Islamabad: According to the Ursa Advisory Committee, 2.19 lakh acre feet of water will be available for irrigation in the Rabi season with a 16% reduction.
IRSA Advisory Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of IRSA in which IRSA members, WAPDA and Irrigation officials participated in which estimations of water availability and distribution for irrigation in Rabi season were made in the country.
According to Ursa, 2 crore 19 lakh acre feet of water will be available for irrigation in Rabi season, water availability will be more than last 10 to 15 years.
According to Arsa, 2 crore 29 lakh acre feet of water has been estimated in the rivers in the Rabi season, while 16% water shortage will be faced, Punjab and Sindh will have to bear the shortfall of water, according to Arsa, 3 crore 11 lakh acres in canals. Feet of water will be available.
In the Rabi season, 1 crore 66 lakh acre feet of water will be provided to Punjab, 1 crore 25 lakh acre feet of water will be available to Sindh, 7 lakh acre feet to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 11 lakh 70 thousand acre feet to Balochistan.
