Mars Alba has effectively thrown the clean sets that Choco Muso usually turns into a huge hit.
But after Alba displayed his spicing proove in his quarter -final sweep of PLDT High Speed Hitter on Thursday evening, Flying Titans do not feel like adding energetic setters to their attackers’ rosters.
Alba said, “Ever since I have been practicing those spikes, I was confident,” Alba said, whose smash dropped in favor of the floor’s PLDT, which proved to be a game-changer in a fierce exchange by both squads in the decisive frame.
“I didn’t expect the coach make me a spiker,” said Alba. “But whatever ball is given to me, I will get a way to help the team.”
After Alba’s attack, the exciting 25-15, 12-25, 25–23, 21-25, 15-13 to 15-13 of Sisi Rondina’s crosscort strike to back row, was disturbed by the passage of speed hitters for the semi-finals of the Premier Volleyball League.
“We talked about the adjustment and saw that Mars is really able to spikes. We would need their skills in situations that say,” said Choco Mucho coach Dante Dante Alinsunurin.
This dimension has helped in the crime of Choco Mucho as Flying Titans have won the seventh straightforward five-seater, followed by Savi Davisson’s 34-point work and finally after redeeming the enemy errors.
Seven digits
“Kudos for our team and coaches. We started from below, and now we are here!” Alba said after winning another best player of the game award.
Rondina carried out 18 attacks in her 21 points that went with 18 receptions and two aces, while Alba gave 22 excellent sets with a pair of seven points and aces.
Honey Royce Tubino was also important, contributing 15 points around 13 attacks. He also had 13 Digs and two blocks, while Jesus Molde and Mika Ortis added eight and seven points respectively.
Flying Titans left for a flying start by seizing the initial frame quickly, but high -speed hits to set a tone for the marathon match strictly responded to the next.
This would be the third final four stent for flying Titans in the last four conferences, an impressive string that saw him making two title series – although the two were lost from the creamline.
He was the only person for the two title series showcase, coincidentally, the franchise.
The victory also gave Choco Mucho the longest active winning line in nine in the tournament, when Petro Gaz lost in a straight set for Zas Coffee on Tuesday, which snatched the 10-game winning streak.
“We were really eager to return to the semi -finals. For now, we would wait for our next opponent and scout them,” Alinsunurin said.
