Today, the Republican National Committee panel approved a draft of the 2024 party platform, which strongly supports bitcoin.
On page nine, the draft clearly states, “We will protect the right to mine bitcoin, and ensure that every American has the right to self-custody their digital assets, and to transact freely from government oversight and control.”

Additionally, it promises to end the Democrats’ “unlawful and un-American crypto crackdown” and opposes the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). HillThe platform committee approved the new draft with an overwhelming majority and a final vote on it will take place on Tuesday.
This decision reflects a clear stance by the Republican Party in favor of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency innovation, pitting it against the current reluctant stance of the Biden administration and the Democrats.
This draft reflects growing interest and advocacy for the security and support of Bitcoin within the party, which aligns with broader trends of Bitcoin adoption and support among various Republican politicians. In May, Donald Trump said he is working with the Republican Party to promote Bitcoin. Said He will “ensure that the future of crypto and bitcoin will be built in the United States.”
