Saskatoon grocer Pitchfork Market + Kitchen went into receivership on Friday, seemingly closing its doors for the last time.
Some shoppers were surprised to find the market doors closed ahead of the long weekend. A sign on the door reads that, as of November 8, accounting firm MNP will act as receiver for the Pitchfork Markets Limited Partnership and the business is no longer operating.

The market’s Instagram page confirmed the closure and thanked the community for its support over the past three and a half years. The market website has already been closed.
This is not the first time the market is in news. The company had planned to expand to Midtown Plaza, but delays and a lease expiration in 2023 ultimately canceled the project.
Global News has reached out to MNP and Pitchfork partner company Arbutus for comment.
