Her son Anshuman Sinha told Union Minister Giriraj Singh, ‘His mother’s last wish was that where her father is cremated, my son should also be cremated. I wanted to leave this world as a married woman but it could not happen. So perform my last rites at the place where my father was buried.

Let us tell you that Sharda Sinha was a resident of Begusarai in Bihar. Begusarai was the father-in-law of Sharda Sinha. Her husband Brij Kishore Sinha also worked in the Education Department. However, Sharda Sinha was born in Sopol, Bihar. Sharda Sinha was not only a folk singer but also a professor at Samastipur College. After retirement, the couple lived with their son in Indirapuram near Delhi for years. Sharda Sinha has two children, a son and a daughter.
