New Delhi: On Friday, the firing incident at a popular sweet shop in west Delhi’s Tilaknagar was carried out by UK-based gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu. The reason for this incident was the businessman’s refusal to pay a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The investigation revealed that Sunguang was guiding the shooters in real-time through the chat application Jangi. The crime branch said on Sunday that it has arrested Vishwakranti (25), one of the main shooters involved in the incident. Confirming the arrest, Special Commissioner RP Upadhyay said that a search is on for one person to nab the other.

The shooter was in touch with Sunguan through the app.

Sources said Kranti and his associates Vijay Gehlot and Sono Films were in touch with Sangwan through Jangi. They were receiving instructions about the target. On Friday, he first shot at an empty plot. They approached a builder and then a shop – despite a PCR van nearby – and started firing. After the shooting, customers and employees panicked. The first shooting was the result of a property dispute. A man named Pankaj who was present on the plot was injured as the shooters fired indiscriminately to create fear among the residents and the owner of the plot.

The investigation of the case has been handed over to the Crime Branch.

Sangwan then asked the shooters to proceed to ‘Singla Suites’ in Tilaknagar and repeat the task. The motorcyclists then did the same and fled the scene. This incident happened at 11 pm. The assailants opened fire through the front glass of the store. Considering the sensitivity of the incident, the Crime Branch was assigned the task of solving the case. Six teams led by Additional Commissioner Sanjay Bhatia and DCP Satyendra Kumar started tracking the suspects.

An informant informed the police about the arrival of one of the shooters in Dwarka. After that, technical supervision was implemented. ACP Ravinder Rajput, Inspector Akshay and others laid a trap near a school. Bhatia said the suspect was spotted and flagged down. He tried to escape by firing at the police team. However, our team chased him and caught him. He was found using an automatic pistol, which was confiscated at the scene.

Neeraj Bawana gang behind shooting at jewelry shop!

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch and Special Cell are also working on the firing incident at a jewelery outlet in Mukherjee Nagar on Saturday. This firing took place within 24 hours of the Tilaknagar incident. Bike-borne miscreants opened fire on a jewelery shop and threw away a typed slip of paper. In this he had demanded one crore rupees. Investigations revealed that Sanguan’s rival gang was involved in the shooting. Jailed gangsters Neeraj Bwana and Naveen Bali are believed to be behind the shooting, an officer involved in the investigation said. He is hand in glove with the Bombay syndicate. His name was written on the paper.

Recruitment of shooters from UP!

The police suspect that the jailed gangsters may have hired the shooters from UP. An analysis of CCTV footage revealed that the shooters fled towards Looney after the shooting. Kapil Sangwan is currently hiding in the UK with his family. A red corner notice has been issued by Interpol due to the investigation of several violent cases against him. Sangwan also claimed responsibility for the killing of INLD Haryana unit chief Nafe Singh Rathi. Gangster Sunguan was running an extortion racket through shooters recruited through social media. Jyoti Baba, brother of Sangwan alias Nandu, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.

Enmity with gangster Manjeet Mahal

Kapil Sangwan has a rivalry with gangster Manjeet Mahal. In 2015, Mahal killed Sangwan’s brother-in-law. Sanguan retaliated and carried out several murders over the past decade. Sources say that efforts are on to bring them back home. Sangwan’s association with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi has also made him a rival of gangsters Neeraj Buna and Bali. Delhi seems to have turned into a battleground as both groups aim to establish supremacy.
