The revival of Stephen Bunting continued with an 8–5 win over Nathan Espinol in the International Darts Open to claim its second title on German soil in four days.

‘The Bullet’ on Thursday arrested the eight-game Winless run to ignite his Premier League campaign in Berlin and took the Mobat to the custom where he won a young European tour title.

The 39-year-old established only a 3–1 lead for aspinol, with a stunning 130 checkout to level the competition with two bulls finish.

After winning its European Darts Trophy in March, Aspinol looked at the curriculum to claim a second gradual European tour title, but Bunting found another gear to extinguish his opponent’s expectations.

Earlier at night, Bunting raced for a 6-2 quarter-final win on Carlel Sedlesak, so that a semi-final clash with Luke Humphs and then produced some sensational darts in a 7–6 victory in the world.

Aspinol knocked on his way in the final three winners of the tournament – Gervin Price (twice) and defending champion Martin Shindleer – but he could not repeat his victory in Goingtten.

Bunting: Can I play here every week?

Bunting told PDC TV: “Can I play here every week? I like to come to Germany and play in front of these fans – and this is additional special with a trophy.

“People were writing me, I knew that I was playing well in the Premier League. I felt that it was just a matter of some time, but the longer it was, the more difficult it was. The Premier League was a massive catalyst that I have done in the last few days.

“I know that I have moved to World No 4, which is large for me. I will just keep playing.” I am a bulletproof, don’t lose anything, the fire is far, away from fire ” – that’s about me. Through thick and thin I always find a way. Thankfully I was going to find a way in this final.

“Thankfully I won a win over the Nathan and went to win the night in Berlin, it was absolutely beautiful. I came here directly from behind, confident was more, and I went to win it. It’s extra special. It’s extra special. I am going to keep another picture with the trophy tonight, I am not, I am not?”

Aspinall: I ran out of steam

Espinol told PDC TV, “I ran out of the steam. My hand is exactly … Stephen gave me a lot of credit, I helped him win my first Premier League title and European title!

“Till two weeks ago, I finalized in 10 years, and I have just made a back-to-back final, so I am proud of myself. I have a hand exactly … Yes!”
