9:02 am PT — NASA released a statement on its findings about the strange sound heard by astronauts Butch WilmoreWhich said, “The pulsating sound coming from the speaker on board Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft heard by NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore on the International Space Station has stopped. The feedback received from the speaker was a result of the audio configuration between the space station and Starliner.”
The statement further said, “The space station’s audio system is complex, interconnecting multiple spacecraft and modules, and it is common to experience noise and feedback. When the crew hears sounds coming from the communications system, they are asked to contact Mission Control. Wilmore reported that the speaker feedback has no technical impact on the crew, Starliner, or station operations, including the uncrewed undocking of Starliner from the station before Friday, September 6.”
As if being stranded in space in the near future wasn’t enough… one of the astronauts stranded on the ISS has sent NASA audio of an ominous sound coming from their faulty Boeing Starliner aircraft.

First reported in audio Ars TechnicaIn the video, astronaut Butch Wilmore can be heard speaking from the Johnson Space Center in Houston … telling mission control, “I have a question about Starliner. There’s a strange sound coming from the speaker … I don’t know what’s causing that sound.”
Mission Control devised a way to play the sound through the phone for Butch … and after one failed attempt to hear it, Mission Control confirmed, “Butch, that sound did come in. It was like a pulsating noise, almost like a sonar ping.”
This recording was first recorded and shared by a Michigan-based meteorologist. Rob Dale,
Butch played the audio again and told NASA, “I’m going to play it one more time and give you all a chance to scratch your heads and see if you can figure out what’s going on.”
Houston confirmed that they would go through the recordings and let Butch know what they found.
As we previously reported … Wilmore and fellow astronauts Suni Williams are stranded Starliner has been stuck at the International Space Station since June 6 due to a problem with its thrusters and a helium leak… where it was scheduled to stay for a week.

The Starliner will separate from the ISS and attempt to land back on Earth on autopilot.
As for Butch and Suni… they’re both now set to return to Earth in February 2025 – on a plane. Elon Musk‘SpaceX’ ships attacked.
