New Delhi: Many states of the country are experiencing severe cold. The capital Delhi is also now in the grip of cold. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather conditions of North India may witness significant changes in the next 3-4 days. The IMD has issued a warning of another Western Disturbance, which may affect northwest India from the night of January 4. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to scattered rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region from January 1 to 3. Also, scattered to widespread rain and snow is likely on January 4 and 5, 2025.
The IMD said that there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature over the western Himalayan region during the next 2 days. There is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature over the plains of Northwest India during the next 2 days. However, during the next 2-3 days, the minimum temperature is expected to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius over central and eastern India and there will be no significant change thereafter.

Also, there is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature over Gujarat during the next 5 days. According to the Meteorological Department, a cold weather warning has been issued on January 1 for Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Haryana, Chandigarh and West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh.
Weather for the next 24 hours
According to Skymet Weather, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir may experience light to moderate rain and snowfall in the mountains during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu. Dense to very dense fog may occur over parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Ground frost is likely to occur in different parts of Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh. Cold day conditions are expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh. Cold wave conditions are likely in Western Himalayas.
