Taylor Swift has released a statement reacting to a tragic event.
On Monday morning, a 17-year-old man was arrested in the United Kingdom after he allegedly stabbed and killed three children at a Swift-themed dance and yoga class in Southport, England.
Apparently, as far as we’ve been able to understand, the class only used Swift’s music and possibly other topics related to the artist.
She was not connected to the incident in any way.
However, Swift responded on social media a day after the unthinkable incident.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport continues to dawn on me and I am in total shock,” he wrote.
“The loss of life and innocence, and the terrible trauma that was caused to all the people there, the families and the first responders.
“These were young children studying in dance class. I don’t know how to express my condolences to these families.”
In a press conference on July 29, Merced Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy confirmed the deaths of the two children.
The third child died on Tuesday at the age of 9.
As per the latest press release, eight Other 10 children were injured in the attack and five are in critical condition. The condition of two adults injured in the attack also remains critical.
The situation is terrible everywhere.
Meanwhile, local police say a teenager has been detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
A Merseyside Police statement said: “At this early stage, investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind this tragic incident and we urge the public not to speculate whilst investigations continue.”
“We can also confirm that this incident is not currently being treated as terrorism-related and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
It is believed that the adults injured in the attack were trying to rescue children at the scene.
“Appalling and utterly shocking news coming from Southport,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a Twitter post on Monday.
“My thoughts are with all those who have been affected. I would like to thank the police and emergency services for their swift response. I am keeping updated as the situation develops.”
