These days the terror of wolves has become a major problem for people in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. A wolf was also spotted in Rajpur Kalan village on Wednesday night, causing panic among the locals. The villagers saw the wolf and tried to surround it. When the people showed the light of the torch, the wolf ran away into the forest.
These days around 30 villages of Bahraich district are affected by the terror of wolves. Seven people, including women and children, have been targeted by wolves in the last two months. Along with this, dozens of people have also been injured. These man-eating wolves are very active in the northern part of the district, especially in Terai areas such as Chakia, Sajuli, Nishangara, Mihan Purwa, Bachiya and Bagholi forests. The situation is the same in Katarnia Ghat area.

Three man-eating wolves were caught.
According to the district forest department, three man-eating wolves have been caught so far and it is estimated that three more wolves are active. Drones and tranquilizers are being used to catch them. Authorities say wolves prey on vulnerable prey such as women and children when they cannot hunt their natural prey.
Man-eating wolves killed five children
Chief Conservator of Forests Renu Singh said in an interview with Aaj Tak, “Earlier we used to hear the story ‘Wolf came, wolf came’, so human conflict with wolves is not new. It is true that this time it happened.” On a more alarming level, as per investigation, 5 children have been killed by cannibals, two cases are suspected, it seems that this whole family of wolves has been caught and all preparations are being made to catch them soon.
The wolf entered the house and attacked the man.
A wolf entered a house and tried to drag away a person in Kalila village late on Wednesday night. However, the man raised the alarm, causing the wolf to run away. In rural areas, houses are close to forests and the walls and doors of these houses are usually open, which allows wolves to easily enter the houses. Wolves easily enter homes at night and take away children.
Wolves are being monitored with rifles and sticks.
State Forest Minister Arun Saxena also visited Bahraich due to the fear of wolves. Assuring the villagers of their safety, he said that all precautionary measures were being taken and the wolves would be caught soon. Currently, the people of 50 villages are living in the shadow of fear.

Earlier on Tuesday, BJP MLA from Mehsi assembly constituency Sureshwar Singh along with others had watched over packs of wolves with rifles and sticks. He warned the people of the area about wolf attacks and raised the spirits of the people worried about wolf attacks.
