Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sarsa made several big announcements on Saturday. Accordingly, after March 31, the Delhi government will stop fueling more than 15 years old vehicles at petrol pumps and CNC stations across the city. After meeting with officials to discuss measures to tackle air pollution in the national capital, Sarsa said the government was taking drastic measures to prevent vehicles and pollution.

After the meeting, Sarsa said, “We are putting gadgets on petrol pumps that will identify the vehicles for more than 15 years and will not be given any fuel.”

He said that the Delhi government would inform the Union Petroleum Ministry about the decision. In addition to banning fuel supply to older vehicles, the SIRSA announced that anti -numnal guns must be installed to reduce air pollution levels in all long buildings, hotels and commercial premises in the capital.

In addition, he said that about 90 % of public CNG buses in Delhi will be removed in a phased manner by December 2025 and will replace electric buses, which is a part of the government’s step towards clean and sustainable public transport.
