Tim Sherwood has claimed that Chelsea Nicholas struggles without Jackson and is irreparable despite not being a huge goalkeeper. Sherwood reported that the Senegal striker makes space for players like Kol Palmer and Enzo Fernandez.
Talking to the metro, the former star of the Tottenham stressed that Jackson’s absence is a huge blow for Chelsea and Anzo Marska needs to find a way to succeed without the former Villarial Man. Sherwood said:
“I think Nicholas Jackson is certainly humiliated. I think he has a focal point and a real appearance. He occupies the center-centers and takes them back to make a place for the choice of coal pamper. Palmer, especially, Jackson made him. [Fernandez] Too. I think Enzo is better number 10 than number 8 and when he moves forward it is a real target threat. But they need someone who is going to lead the line and occupy the center and the place for them. ,
He said:
“He is a very big memory. He is not a huge goalkeeper, but he is definitely a threat and he cannot replace him. He has not found any like him – he has tried with it [Christopher] Nkunku or Pedro is playing with Neto as a false nine, but it has not worked. Sometimes you have to find a different way as a manager. I think they are a bit to be predicted on the ball, playing sideways and backwards, but perhaps there are no further options when watching midfield players. Jackson usually pulled the opposition back or they could play in her chest for a long time and hold the ball. He has not done so in his absence, so he missed a lot. ,
Jackson has scored nine goals and assisted five times in 23 Premier League matches this season. Chelsea slipped from second to fourth place in the table and even found himself in sixth place at one point last month. Incredibly, Blues were just two points behind Liverpool recently as December, but now the leaders have 21 points.
Nicholas Jackson is expected to return to Chelsea after international break
Ango Marska has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson may return to Chelsea after international break. He revealed that the strikers who were injured in the match against West Ham United (3 February) are currently under mild training and have recovered from their hamstring issues. After the break, Noni Maduke is also expected to return into action. MARESCA said (through 90min):
“He can come back, perhaps after the international break. He and Noni too.”
“This is good news. Before the international break, we have two games – tomorrow and Sunday – and then we have international breaks, we can charge energy, can recover players and then go for the last [bit of the season],
Chelsea faced Tottenham on 3 April later by Brentford in the week (6 April). Blues have just one match away from London in April – the first phase of its conference league quarterfinal against Legia Warsazawa (April 10).
