Mumbai: 6 days have passed since the Maharashtra election results and the CM’s decision is hanging in the balance. After three days of silence, Eknath Shinde announced his support for the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, but the situation deepened Mahawati’s crisis. BJP made several proposals to convince Eknath Shinde, but he did not accept. A three-hour marathon meeting at Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi failed to reach a decision. A meeting of the proposed alliance in Mumbai on Friday was also postponed. Before the meeting, Shinde went to his village.

BJP wants Shinde to become deputy chief minister, Amit Shah also explained.

According to reports, in a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday night, it was made clear that Devendra Fadnavis will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. BJP had once discussed Shinde as deputy CM. He was told that taking the post of deputy chief minister would send a message of Mahawati’s unity. He was told about other experienced leaders along with Fadnavis who, despite holding senior positions, took on other responsibilities. Shinde did not agree with these arguments. Now the Shiv Sena leaders have given a new argument. Shivsena says that Devendra Fadnavis is a Brahmin by caste. Keeping two Maratha leaders Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde as his deputy could prove to be a political mistake. Maratha voters will not like this. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Sharasat said that Shinde will never accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

The Shiv Sena leader said, Eknath Shinde will become a minister, but not deputy chief minister.

The BJP may form the government with Ajit Pawar’s support, but it is not in favor of losing Shinde. Despite the anger, the Shiv Sena and Eknath Shinde remain the most trusted of the BJP. The BJP is trying to ensure that Shinde is part of the government no matter what. Eknath Shinde is also preparing to make a big deal in return for stepping down as CM. Shinde was offered a senior ministry in the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, but turned it down as well. According to political sources, Eknath Shinde is in no mood to leave Maharashtra under any circumstances. He has asked the BJP to become the Chairman of the Legislative Council. Apart from this, he is adamant about the Ministry of Interior. Sanjay Sharasat, close to Eknath Shinde, said Shinde may join the new Maharashtra cabinet, but it is not acceptable for him to become the deputy chief minister after being the chief minister. Shiv Sena can make another leader as Deputy CM.
