New Delhi: India is emerging as a major hub in the global drug trafficking, which is transmitting opium, heroin, and drug addicts to African and American countries.

Recent reports from the United Nations Anti -Drug Agency (UNODC) and the BBC have revealed that smuggled opium and other drugs from India are becoming a serious threat to the public health.

According to the UNODC, India has become an important center for illegal drug supply from Myanmar to Central America and African countries. Recently, Nigeria’s Drug Control Agency (NDlea) seized more than $ 100 million worth of opium and other drugs supplied to India.

In Nigeria, more than 4 million people have become accustomed to smuggled opium drugs from India, while the government also banned them in 2018, but smuggling continues. Ghana and Nigeria are among the major affected countries of Opium and intoxicating trampol from India.

According to the BBC report, addictive drugs such as “Tafardol”, “Tima King” and “Traumadol” are arriving in Nigeria and other African countries, according to the BBC report. Vinod Sharma, director of the Indian Pharmaceutical Company Aveo (Aveo), confirmed that Indian authorities are also involved in the illegal trade and pay less attention to the illegal drugs sold to African countries.
