The United States has banned six Chinese and Hong Kong officials to punish China for the ongoing rift on the advocates of democracy at the financial center, which was returned to Chinese rule in 1997.
The US State Department announced sanctions on Monday. They target major figures, including the secretary of Hong Kong Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-Yay and Justice Paul Lam, who plays “intimidation, silence and 19 supporters attempts to harass and disturb the activists of democracy.
US State Secretary Marco Rubio said on X that Beijing attached to “Break his promise”, “deprive the Hong Kongs of Freedom”, and “attached to the transnational repression acts that target activists on American soil”.

The ban, marked a rarely marked by the administration of President Donald Trump, will block any interest organized by six individuals in the US and generally criminalize financial transactions with them under the US law.
