AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto accused the Hemant Soren-led government of using government money to influence voters ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Speaking at the ‘Jharkhand Navnirman Sankalp Rally’ organised at Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi, Mahato alleged that the government has failed to fulfil the promises made to the youth and women of the state.
Addressing a huge gathering of thousands of youths from across Jharkhand, Mahato said, “The government is using its treasury in the name of various schemes to woo voters ahead of the assembly elections in the state.”
He criticised the timing of the new schemes, claiming that they were launched just months before the elections. “The government is launching schemes at a time when just a month or two is left for the elections. If it was sincere towards the people of the state, it would have launched these initiatives years ago,” he said.
Mahato accused the government of not fulfilling several important promises, including giving jobs and unemployment allowance. He said, “The government had promised unemployment allowances of Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000 to the youth, but did not give these.”
Additionally, she highlighted the government’s failure to implement the ‘Chulha Bhatta’ scheme, under which women were supposed to be provided Rs 2,000 per month as cooking allowance.
According to Mahato, the government had promised five lakh jobs but very few were given. “Only 1,033 jobs were given through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and 10,041 through the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission,” he claimed.
Mahato assured that if the NDA, in which the AJSU Party is an ally of the BJP, comes to power, it will introduce policies focussed on the welfare of all sections of the society, especially the youth and women.
