In their investigation, the police found that similar rumors were being spread from IP addresses in Bangladesh and Pakistan. These IP addresses were used to create fake social media profiles. Fake news was then spread through these profiles to incite public anger and divert police investigations.
Notice issued to 280 people
Now acting in this case, the police have sent notices to around 280 people in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. These notices have been sent under charges of spreading fake news, spreading rumors and revealing the identity of the victim. The police have also issued notices to former BJP MP Lokit Chatterjee and two prominent doctors. They are accused of spreading rumors and revealing the identity of the female doctor. At present, the police is engaged in further investigation in this case.
The post-mortem report is heartbreaking.
Earlier on Sunday, the post-mortem report of the victim’s doctor was released, which revealed several shocking revelations. In the report, more than fourteen injury marks were found on the body of the female doctor. She was beaten and sexually assaulted before being strangled to death. These wounds were found on the head, face, neck, hands and genitals of the junior doctor. At the same time, it was revealed in the report that the victim bravely fought the accused. Due to which the accused had nail marks and scratches on his hands. The medical report confirmed that these marks were made by the fingernails of the victim.
