The new President of the United States, Donald Trump, seems to be in a mood to take tough action against Russia regarding the Ukraine war. He has warned Moscow that additional sanctions could be imposed if it does not talk to Ukraine. However, he has said that he is ready to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at any time. In fact, he was asked whether you demand a ceasefire in Ukraine. Will you impose additional sanctions on Russia if he doesn’t come to the negotiating table with you, which he said might happen.
Asked if he thought the war should be stopped for now, Trump said the war should never have started. If you had a competent president, which you have, there would be no war. If I had been president, there would never have been a war in Ukraine, but it didn’t because the election was rigged.
Now most soldiers are being killed in war – Putin
In response to a question, Trump said that he is ready to meet with Putin at any time. Whenever he wants, I will meet him. Millions of people are being killed. It is a terrible situation and now they are mostly soldiers. Many people are dead and the cities look like ruins. More people have died in Ukraine than is being reported. The actual numbers are not being revealed and I am not blaming the media for that. I may be blaming our government for not releasing these numbers.
When asked whether the United States would continue sending weapons to Ukraine or stop soon, Trump said he was looking into the matter. We are talking to President Zelensky of Ukraine.
Putin Refuses Ceasefire
In fact, there is going to be a clash between Trump and Putin over the Ukraine war. The reason is that Trump wants to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, while Putin has rejected Trump’s appeal for a ceasefire. Putin wants Russia’s interests to be paramount in the deal. The purpose of the agreement should not be a temporary ceasefire. Putin does not want to give the enemy a chance to regroup. The goal of negotiations should be long-term peace.
